Thumbs down Winnebago Voyager cabinet faces: repair replace vinyl veneer

We have a 2005 Winnebago Voyage 33v. The "wood grain" vinyl veneer (seems like contact paper, but I am assured it is vinyl...) on the faces of the cabinetry and trim has "delaminated", in the sense that it has come unstuck from the underlying unfinished wood, causing a large number of very obvious bubbles, as well as long linear cracks, and tears. The cabinet doors are fine. The Winnebago dealer indicates that this is not unusual, and their only solution is to remove the doors, then replace the failed cabinets entirely. This approach is not acceptable to me. Winnebago support line CSR has no information, and transferred me to parts, who indicate that the cabinet finish on our RV is "concert cherry" finish, but that they have no information as to the vendor, description, or part for the actual vinyl veneer.

Thoughts, suggestions, experiences solving this problem. It seems to that I need to find a source to sell me replacement wood grain vinyl that is a "close enough" match to enable replacement where needed...

Best,
John Hughes

Hi John! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Can't offer any advice on that problem! Keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

John, your best course of action might be to replace the doors. I had several delaminating in the mitered corders. Since I have a wood shop I made exact replacements from real oak. There are a number of custom cabinet door shops online that make replacement doors. One that stands out in my mind is cabinetdoors.com, they are in Northern CA IIRC. Another whose name I don't recall is in AZ.

There are several cabinet refactoring companies around. They should be able to put wood veneer on the face and new doors if you want.

You don’t indicate where your at but there are several Amish cabinet refinshers in northern Indiana area who specialize in rv projects at a fair price.
Country Craftsman in Middlebury,Indiana is one who gave me a very good quote.
Good luck
