Winter intermediate outside storage

Hello all,

I am being used around every 3 weeks, all year around, so no hibernation allowed.

Do you think it it sufficient to have a electric plug-in heater inside and the heated holding tanks on keep me protected from freezing temperatures?

We had some frost here already, and this setup keeps my internal temperature at around 55 degree.

Usually, before parking, my owners drain the tanks and put a few gallon of RV antifreeze in there, am just wandering about the times in between.

Thank you all.

I wouldn't risk it. Either winterize it and use it without water or winterize it after each use. Learn to winterize.

I winterized ours after each use, about once a month. Now I head south for 4 months!

Thank you, that's what they do, and it appears to work so far.

When parked, they also always drain the water heater, or have a light bulb in its compartment.

Enjoy the south, I am about to head up north again.

How cold does it get where you are at? If daytime highs are always above freezing and lows are 20 or so you should be fine. If you don't get hard freezes you should be fine just blowing out the lines without having to use the pink stuff. If your highs are in the 20s and lowes run in that single digit range, I'd use the pink stuff every time. You should be able to winterize in about 10 minutes and 2 gallons of stuff. IMHO it's a waste to put pink stuff in your holding tank. Just drain.

It is below freezing (32). Low 20s sounds about right.

Daytime temperatures sometimes stay below freezing, and if not, certainly do with the wind chill.

I never had my lines blown out. After draining, they put the 'pink' stuff in.

And always a bit into the holding tanks, because they run it down to the drain. I heard a frozen dump valve can not only be a hassle, but also break!

Thank you all.
