Winter Texan "season"

I was just wondering what months are generally considered the "Winter Texan season". Is it a 3 month stay, 4 months? Normal dates when the season begins and ends for most people?

It's our first year as full-timers, so I don't know for sure ... but we have been in Texas since December 5th and are staying till the end of March. /ken

When we FTd we traveled but did notice that 'snowbird areas' (TX & FL) filled up after the holidays and emptied by April

So I guess 3 or 4 months is a 'season'

Snowbirds tend to be driven by family holidays as much as weather. Many head south after Thanksgiving or Christmas, and head back north after Easter. Lots of variations based on personal preferences. Big snowbird parks often have group Thanksgiving dinners, for example.

Simple test for when the seasons are?
Look at the parks rates to tell when 'their' seasons change

Lower rates in off season and higher in on season !

We have found what Gary states above to be the norm while full timing since 2011.

Winter season is prime motorcycle riding time in Texas as it's not 104 degrees with high humidity. for us that runs from about the 1st of November to March 1st.
