Winterizing. Did I Miss Anything ?
We just got back from what’s probably going to be our last trip of the year. I also
winterized it. This is what I did.
Drained everything via the low point drains.
Drained and bypassed the water heater.
Pumped RV antifreeze to all the faucets and the toilet.
Poured what was left into the drains and toilet.
After I parked it, I disconnected the negative post on the battery.
I forgot to prop open the fridge, but will get up there within the next week to do so.
Am I missing anything? Thanks in advance for your responses!

96, nope. 18 footer.
And I’ll take the batteries out when I go back to prop open the fridge door.

Is there a sprayer on the toilet. I also like to pour half a gallon in the toilet and half gallon down all the sink traps extra so that the discharge valves have antifreeze at them as well. Any water left in the tanks will probably end up at the valves. Cheap insurance. When parking trailers for a period of time outside, its not a bad idea to leave the front end a little high to assist with water drainage off the roof. Cheers

Winniman, good tip. I'll check when I prop open the fridge and take batteries out of the remotes and flashlights.

A previous toilet had a push down to flush, lift up for sprayer. I forgot to push up one year and the valve froze and broke.

Not sure if mine has a lift up for spray feature. Have to remember to check that in the spring. But I did pour extra antifreeze in the bowl.
And it rarely stays below freezing for long around here. And, my spot where I store it is on the south side of the building, so it should stay fairly warm.

Outside shower? All food removed? Don't want to feed any uninvited guests. How about remains of the case of bottled water under the dinette seats? Liquid soaps or other cleaners and personal hygiene products? Is the oven used as a bread box?
I pretty much empty my rig of anything I can use during the winter at the homestead.

Another item easily missed if present, is the black water tank sprayer. Its not connected to the rest of the fresh water system and needs to serviced differently with a external pump. I use a hand powdered pump with a male hose connection.

Sweetbriar, yes, made sure pink was running out of both taps of the outside shower.
Yes, all food was taken, along with the water under the seat.
And only a microwave. No real oven. And, yes, it's empty.
And all toiletries are here.
Some dish soap that we've had for about 4 years in the pop up was left in. The TT is nicely insulated, as opposed to the pop up that was basically a tent!
Thanks for all the replies, everyone! Other than propping the fridge door open and raising the jack a little more, I'm confidant I did a great job!
Although, I do have to fess up a little bit on the bypass valve. I was starting to freak out just a bit when the pump wasn't sucking water up to test it out. Stopped the pump, reversed the valve and still nothing!
then I realized that I still had the city hose turned on! Duh!
Turned it of and, holy wow! Look at how fast it sucked it up!
yeah, I process things kinda slow sometimes!

Well, I am happy to realize that I am not the only one in our area to winterize over the weekend. We are about 3 hours driving time apart. My experience was somewhat different than yours in that this was my first time ever winterizing a TT. I looked on YouTube to make sure I did it right. Also went by instructions on this Forum from TDI Minnie. I found all the valves and drains ok but was unable to get to the siphon for antifreeze transfer. I am too old and too big to get myself in a position in the small bathroom to make that work. I ended up using a transfer pump to siphon the antifreeze through all the faucets, toilet, and shower, with the help of my wife. However I did forget the black tank sprayer. I will get that today, Thanks...
