Wireless Backup Cam - Funny Story

Just a little funny story....

I have a inexpensive wireless backup cam set up on the back of my travel trailer. It's not a "great" unit, but it works... I have it suction cupped to my windshield out of my field of vision, but close enough to peek at it here and there when I want clarification of where the ass end of my trailer is. Anyways...

Was driving between Amarillo and Ft Worth on Saturday, and glanced at my monitor and noticed a car following me very closely. I mean this vehicle looked to have it's nose under my bumper it was so close! I did a little swerve and looked back into my mirrors and there was nothing there, not even a shadow. I looked back to the monitor and the car was gone, and the screen flickered and it was back again - then it flickered back out. That's when I noticed a motor home going in the opposite direction with that same TOAD attached to it's back bumper. I chuckled at the odds at which something like this would happen.

It was then that I realized that if I saw a car behind me, imagine the driver of the motor home when he glanced at his/her monitor and the car was gone! I laughed even harder thinking of what must have run through their head if they noticed the screen like I did. I would have had a heart attack and crashed if the TOAD that I'd seen behind me for miles and miles and miles was suddenly gone.

Wow, that is really an eye opener. That would get the heart rate up.
We tow a white Chevy Trailblazer and I am used to seeing it on the monitor. It has happened a couple time when I have had the exact same car pass me. The first time it really freaked me and now I know there are a lot of the same vehicles on the road. I still jerk my head toward the monitor when I see one and hopefully will never see mine passing me.

I bought a wireless camera for the stick house, about half the time I can't get a connection to it through the router. Maybe I should get a backup cam instead.!

Several times my toad is gone looking at the monitor. What the 7734!
Then I realize one of the side cameras are stuck on rather than the rear. I have to reset on it to default to rear..
