I recentaly made a very careless mistake. I have two outlets next to each. One is for the camper and one is for my 220v air comoressor. They both use the same type outlet and I accidentally plugged the 30amp trailer into the 220v compressor outlet. Upon seeing what I had done I pulled the plug but not before cooking the microwave and the TV. This seems to be the only things that were damaged. Everything else seems to be OK. Is there anything else that I should check. Thanks.

Probably anything that's on the 110VAC circuit that's always hot when the trailer is plugged in. Examples would be your power converter, coffee pot control board, A/C thermostat transformer (120VAC to 24VAC), etc. Unless the air conditioner tried to start, its compressor motor shouldn't have been exposed to the 220VAC since the contactor (relay) didn't pull in. Unfortunately, if your luck is no better than mine, you may be finding stuff for a good while....

I would be surprised if your converter is not fried as well. Your DC will work as long as the battery is up, but the battery will die soon if the converter is ruined. Did you check your AC ?

Something is wrong with having two outlets using the same type of connector, one connect to 115 vac and the other to 220 vac. Each type of outlet is designed and marked for one or the other to prevent this.

My pastor had an electrician hook up his 120v - 30AMP receptacle for his RV at his campsite.

Electrician said "it looked like a 220V outlet to me".

He fried a few things too. A/C wasn't hooked up.

Good morning Mike, must be something in the air I did pretty much the same thing 2 weeks ago. Bad case of HUA (head up #ss syndrome) anyway the tv amd microwave are tied to the inverter so instead of $200 TV I killed a $899 inverter.
My list of sacrifices are (1) inverter, (1) Bose Wave Radio,(1) built in vaccum, (1) 120v heating element for Fridg, (1) coffer maker and (1) 15 amp dual circut breaker. Luckly my homeowners ins has an IDIOT clause and it is paying for everything but the Bose.

This is the very reason I am such a strong believer in a Surge Guard. If one was on line; either a portable, or hard wired, you would not have had any damage to the coach. The 220 volt receptacle should have be configured like a 3 wire dryer outlet; that way you could not have pluged the motorhome into it. I guess we live and learn. Sorry to hear of the high voltage problem but it happens every day somewhere.
