Xantrex pro 1800

what will cause xantrex pro 1800 inverter to just die. It charges and I have power to outlets on shore power and generator, but will note produce AC from Batteries. I checked connections, checked batteries, reset and hard reset and keeps getting E05 code. called xantrex they said it was fried. I want to know why? 2017 Jayco Siesmic.

Don't know what happened here, but that failure mode has been seen before on Xantrex units. I had a 3,000 watt unit that came with a 3 year warranty in my sailboat.

I purchase a two year extended warranty when I purchased at West Marine.

With no warning, it simply stopped working at 4 years. Replaced it for free, bought another warranty and it has been 18 months trouble free so far.

I'm a tech advisor for West Marine; I recommend the extended warranty to all customers who are buying inverters.

Hope this helps.

I blew thru 2 Xantrex PS2000 inverters, in 5 months, before I got a good one.

The rep at a show said they have some bad batches.
