Welcome to the forum.

Wow. Incredible work you two have done and my heart goes out to you both. I can only imagine how it must feel to have your hard work catch fire.

As other have said, keep with it at this point... but what about the fire? Fire is a bad thing in RVs and you really need to understand how it started so you can take steps to ensure it will never happen again.

Best of luck.

Wow, what a great job! I can only imagine how depressing the fire was to you both. You might check on the Ford Chassis Owner's Section of the forum to see if anyone has ideas. Also give a look at the Vintage Owner's section where there are lots of remodels going on. Good luck to you, and I hope RVing goes more smoothly for you in the future.

First of all, Welcome to iRV2!! You've come to the right place.

I'm sure you'll get through this. I have to tell you I am impressed with your progress thus far. I've gone through both of your postings, and it's clear to me that you both have hands-on and research skills, a work ethic to do the job right, and the gumption to go after the knowledge before you start the hands-on work.

I wish I could be of more help technically, but others are far more knowledgeable in that area. You've done a beautiful job on the interior, and I know those same skills will see you through. Well done!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! We've definitely gotten some motivation from here! We are starting to clean up all the vacuum lines and whatnot in there and have ordered some of the parts that were damaged as well as a new (correct) solenoid. We also seem to have found the cause of the fire from the advice given on the other post so thank this forum! We will keep you all updated as we go!

Rick and Sally,

We are all rooting for you. Please do keep us informed when you get things fixed because we know you will. We want to hear about your first trip and how you love this rig. In a year or 4 this will all just be a bad memory but you will have built a lot of good ones in between.

Keep us informed please, Lynne

Rick and sally, you guys are da bomb, you did a super remodel of the RV and seem to have resolved the engine fire problem. You also seem to be going thru the engine bay in an effective manor and will have yourselves a dependable rig when finished. Keep up the good work and have some great trips in you very personalized RV.
