I had read that you have to move a bit quicker and do smaller area as the sun and heat will dry surface quicker, makes sense, I would not try to stay ahead of a hot afternoon sun, wait until later afternoon or earlier in the morning. You can do sections at a time. I did front & rear caps first to get a feel for what I was doing. Omn my rig, I had easily distinguisable sections, so I could do a section at a time. But it goes so quickly and easily (application) that you can really move, right down the whole side.
I had a problem quite the opposite that I documented. Here in OHIO, fall evenings can cool quick and damp with dew. I had a two foot section "run" because of moisture before it dried. I thought that I would remove it it this spring and do over, but really, it is hard to see (white color) unless looking hard, so I left it alone.

Funny you should ask. I just noticed that the Zep on one side of my rig is flaking in many areas.

I just returned from a week long trip to Texas which included driving in a fair bit of rain. The side that is flaking was exposed to the sun when I applied the Zep nearly a year ago, is exposed to the sun where I park when the MH is not in use, and the side that was exposed to the 100 degree sun in Texas last week. I can only guess that it is the long exposure to the sun that has caused the flaking. It is not flaking on any of the other three sides. I plan to give it a good wash and re-Zep later this week but not in direct sun. Don't think it is a problem, just needs some maintenance!

Anyone out there with an "inside line"?
The ZEP plant did not burn down. There was no fire at the plant. A few people have reported the plant burned but it was a chemical supplier to ZEP that had the fire. ZEP is located just south of Cartersville, GA on US41 and the plant that burned was in Marietta, GA. I just drove past the ZEP plant a couple days ago, they are alive and well.

There may be a few of their products that may have limited supply until ZEP can get another supplier to take the place of the one that burned.

About 60% done. Only have one cost on the driver side, 2 coats on the back, 4 coats on the front and 4 coats on the roof. Looks pretty awesome.

Zep is good for about a year but following the original sequence of Bartender's friend, TSP and ZEP application will renew it. My top cap takes a lot of sun and the peeling occurred this last month. 1/2 day and it is as good as new.

Why put ZEP on the roof if you can't see it?

So the chalking from the roof does not make its way to the sides. Unless you guys don't think it is necessary?

Give us some more angle pictures when you finish so we can see the shine. It did wonders to my old fiver.

zep

I have had my 1996 Allegro Zeded for 2 1/2 years and only done one small area over it was above the wind shield. I live in Texas and it gets sun and rain 24 /7. I do put in in my shop if there is hail or bad storm but for the most of the time its outside. I have read a several post on some other sites where some have had yellowing or flaking. I was very careful about the preparation with the btf cleaning several various areas two times. If there is any wax left on the coach it will flake I have been told. I can not explain the yellowing I don't think its the sun. I'm doing some new pin striping and I will recoat the coach completely in the next few weeks this will seal the new striping. Best of luck and keep them shining.

Zep shine

I cleaned my roof today I have a rubber roof so I used btk and a little comet. It was starting to get some small dark spots and the awning roll was also getting dirty. It was 90 deg. today and was not going to attempt any application of zep due to the heat. I still have some pin striping to finish on the driver side will post pictures when complete. What I'm doing is some of my larger striping is cracked on the edges so I'm putting some gold 1/8 inch striping to cover the edges. Keep then shining What is this some one posted about putting Zep on a rubber roof ? I have not heard of this I don't think it would be a good idea, you could zep a fiberglass roof but not rubber I could be wrong!
