Several folks are interested in golf. Looks like we'll get an outing going. Check out the National Rally Golf Outing thread.

John or Rick:

Which date is the registration deadline, April 1st or April 15th?

The posting at the top of this thread says April 1st but the March iRV2.com newsletter states April 15th.

I've already paid; but for those who haven't, there may be some "unhappy campers" if they use the wrong date as the registration deadline; especially if the correct date is April 1st.

The original deadline date of April 1, was recently extended to the April 15, date to allow folks more time to get their payments in.

What Richard said.

We have to get the final arrangements to the campground very soon after that (Rick knows the exact date) at which time, any unused sites are fair game for the CG to use.

Good news! We still have 10 -15 sites available and will keep the registration for these sites open until May 1. I released the remaining sites back to the campground because it is obvious we will not fill all 100 sites. So, get your reservations in by May 1 and join in the fun! You must pay in full when you register. All refund rules still apply:

Cancellations up to April 1, 2005 - full refund less $50.00 deposit
Cancellations from April 1 to May 1 - 1/2 refund
Cancellations after May 1 - no refund - registration may be transferred to another family at any time.

Unfortunately, due to a low level of interest, I had to cancel the Gettysburg tour. I will refund tour fees to those who signed up at the rally. Anyone still interested in a Gettysburg tour can do it on their own. There is a tape-guided auto tour available in Gettysburg. It is pretty good.

Isn't there perhaps a smaller bus?

It really is too bad that folks can't see that Gettysburg was the pivotal point in the Civil War that showed that the Union was going to stand. This place needs to be visited.

To see General Lee's mounted atop his steed "Traveller" standing in the morning haze on Seminary Ridge facing the Union lines gives me pause and it should be something that people need to see.

No more meaningful or written American document surpass the words written by President Lincoln in his "Gettysburg Address". The fields of Gettysburg show us his words and we can feel something tangible standing there and it's located right there in the corn fields of Pennsylvania.

I regret the lack of interest in this worthwhile tour.

Out of curiosity, how many had requested the Gettysburg Tour?

We had a count of 15. We tried to get a smaller bus but the tour company's 26 passenger bus was already booked for that day. Maybe it was my error in including lunch at Dobbin House as part of the tour, which raised the tour price, perhaps to an uncomfortable level for some. Dobbin House is a really neat, period specific tavern that we visit every time we go to Gettysburg, so I felt it was a great option. Aahh well...next time...

Is it too late to cancel the lunch and lower the price? And see if more sign up?
