2006 Rally – Great Smoky Mountains
It's my pleasure to announce that the 2006 National Rally will be held in Tennessee in the Smoky Mountains and that we're looking at the River Plantation RV Park in Sevierville, Tennessee (just north of Pigeon Forge) as a tentative campground. The dates planned for this event will be Sunday, July 16 through Saturday, July 22.
Several action packed and fun filled venues are in the planning stages including a day at Dollywood, a dinner show at the Dixie Stampede, and a tour of Cades Cove in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park which includes a horse drawn hayride through the cove. Bus transportation is being planned to and from all venues.
This Rally will be lots of fun and our Wagonmaster for the event will be Don Fauntleroy, "Don W5IT" so mark your calendars now for this exciting annual event and get your deposits in early to guarantee you're included.
As previous, we're taking a $50 non-refundable deposit to guarantee a spot and Don will start a sign up page and rally thread shortly. The deposit will be credited to registration fees. Total pricing will be worked out at a later date, but you can be assured it'll be a fair value and those attending will have a great time.
I hope to see y'all there and am looking forward to next year's rally!
Richard

We went to Sevierville in 2001 and loved it--Dixie Stampede and Dollywood too! Now I am looking forward to attending the 2006 rally there.

Richard: now I dont have to keep that secret any longer! Hope to attend the 2006 rally. Matter of fact, we will be going back again this summer. We really love the area.

I'll take a full h/u riverfront site - unless it's gonna flood; then stick us up on one of the surrounding mountains.

If any one is interested, rv park reviews website has about 20+ reviews from the last couple years on this CG. Opinions are, as always, in the eye of the beholder, but I thought this gave a good feel for the place.

As soon as things get settled a bit in La we would appreciate information on which CG and how to register etc.
Looks like we will be bringing 1 or 2 units with us.

We had our Titanium Ralley there this year. Very nice campground. They, at that time, did not give "group rates" but they do honor the Good Sam 10%. Fees were:

Full Hookups - 30 amp $26.00
Full Hookups - 50 amp $28.00
Full Hookups - River front lots $30.00

Having looked through some of the posts IRT the 2005 rally, I saw "some" mention of kids being in attendance....
As the DW and I have a "seasoned traveler" nine year old daughter,we were wondering if the 2006 Rally would be at least "somewhat" kid friendly?
Would love to see that part of the country and just thought it'd also be an opportunity to put some "faces" on all these names.
Thanks!!
