Too bad the National IRV2.com Rally and the Winnebago WIT Grand National Rally are the same week. Since it's the the 50th anniversary GNR is our priority. One week different for either and we'd have been able to attend both.

We regret this occurrence and are working to move the 2009 National Rally back to the latter part of June.

Hopefully I will "See ya there" and get to meet yall.

We have done RV.Net rallies, so our feet are "damp". We are going to make it a big vacation and see the new grandbaby in Oregon after the rally, then dribble down the coast to home.

Wasn't there a list started here with the names of Texans who had registered? Has it disappeared or am I having hallucinations? (Be kind with your answer.)

Thank you so much! I KNEW I had seen it somewhere, but I couldn't find it again. I thought I might be losing what little I have left of my mind. <bwg>

If you're going to have a Rally in June or July, why don't you pick a state that's a little cooler and the humidity isn't so bad? Or move the Rally to early May or maybe September if you are going to have it in Texas.

Bob -

Thank you for your input. One of the most difficult things to plan is a National Rally that is accessible to everyone who may wish to come. For those with families (and we have a number of them who come to the National Rallies) or who work in education, a major factor is that schools in various locations in the US are in session except for the summer months of late June, July and the early portion of August.

The next most difficult thing is WHERE to have a National Rally. You have the find a place of interest, find accomodations to fit the need for a larger group of people and believe me, that isn't as easy as one might think and all the while be conscious of the distance that attendees will have to travel to get to a National Rally.

The 03 National was in Nashville, the 04 was in the San Antonio, Texas area (and the temperatures never got over 85), the 05 National was in the Pennsylvania Amish country. 06 was in Sevierville, Tennessee and 07 was in Branson. It was time to have one in "middle America" again where our members from the "western" states might be able to come.

The most important factor in ALL the decisions is to have someone to organize the National Rally. I agreed to step up to the plate because the decision makers asked for it to be in this area.

There have been discussions amongst the Owners, Administrators and Moderators to move the National to the latter part of June.

All this aside, I'd like to invite you personally to come to the 08 National in Perrin, Texas - it may never be any closer to Colorado Springs than 08!

Sandy Creekmore
08 National Rally Wagonmaster

PS: To address the issue of heat and humidity, In Sevierville and again last year in Missouri we all sweated through our t-shirts, but we had a great time anyway! I can promise LOTS of shade trees at Mitchell RV Resort in Perrin!
