The Rally team is compiling some Self Guided Tours for places of interest for the 2009 National Rally/Reunion. These tours will highlight some points of interests with addresses and links to their sites if available. The tours also gives Google maps and direction for you to use. You have the ability to edit the route as you review it. You can add additional stops and delete others.

We also have Area attraction information for places or items of interest.

<LI>SHOPPING..That's a good word to describe Berlin.
Literature will be provided in your Welcome packet showing just a few of the many shops and restaurants located in the Amish country town.

Suggested route for some good Amish country site-seeing is Rt 250 to Rt 62 to Rt 39 and west into Berlin. Then use County rd 77 north out of Berlin to Mt. Hope to Rt 241 to Rt 250 back to the campground.

When going through Mt. Hope look for Rolling Ridge animal park.

<LI>Charm, OH
Located on Township rd 369.
Besides the downtown shopping, there is Horse back riding and cheese making

<LI>Mohican Area
Beautiful forests, scenic rivers and plenty of outdoor activities.

<LI>Wilderness Center

Wilderness Center is located about 4 miles from the campground. There are several walking trails and the scenery is beautiful. There is also an occasional evening or moonlight walk available.

<LI>Bike Trail
A 16 mile trail, available to even the novice of riders, is in the Fredericksburg/Millersburg area.

My suggestion is to go to the Millersburg access point. From there you can go south about 6 miles one way and visit Walmart along the way or go north approx 10 miles one way. It's kinda cool how you share the path with the Amish buggies!!

You can check out downtown Millersburg while you are there.

<LI>Trumpet in the Land

Trumpet in the Land is located in New Philadelphia. While you are there, check out Warthers in Dover.

<LI> Hartville

Known mostly for its flea market and marketplace, Hartville offers other sites as well.

Berlin has a huge Craft mall three stories and wonderful shopping. Also have to visit Wendell Ausgust just out of town .

You have to go to the Cheese factory in Charm. We wil be up there in oct, Dec and bring back a suitcase of cheese. ( we are flying) next summer a cooler. You can watch them make the cheese. Across the road is a resturant with great food. It has to be on everyone list to visit. The area is so nice with rolling hills and Amish.

Yes, they do give samples. All you want at all the cheese factories. Pearl Valley cheese factory is also very good, they are just south of Sugar Creek.

All the cheese factories have samples. We love to go to Charm to the cheese factory there.

Just spent 3 days at MT Eaton and it as promised ..You all will enjoy....I just wanted to add that in Wooster Ohio (@15 miles west) Rubbermaid has its outlet store ..all things rubbermaid ...prices on clearance floor seem to be 50% and better off retail ..fyi

We just returned from a weekend of camping at Evergreen to complete the last minute planning for the rally. While there, we didn't have time to make any of the flea markets, but Shelly and I did take a quick trip the Amish Door Bakery and loaded up on some homemade baked goods.

Man, those Apple Fritters are GOOD
