Look at my Avatar!!!

I know I should have let Jim introduce the Avatar - but I got so excited once it showed up in the Avatar section - that I had to show it off. I believe Don Allen gets credit for this one..am I correct?

You can get the same avatar by going here and choosing the National Rally avatar on page 2.

Guess you can't trust anyone with a secret.

Yes Becky it is true, the fabulous Don Allen of the Texas Boomers is the one who got our Avatar for the rally up I would like everyone who wants to help promote it or if your coming please follow Monaco Mamas link and attach it to all your posts.

Thanks Don for getting the avatar done and Becky for getting it in the system and of course all those of you who will proudly display it for the rest of the site to see.

This will replace my current avatar! Is there no way to put BOTH on like we did with the 2008 rally?

Oops, looks like it has already been replaced. Oh well, I like it so guess I will keep it for a while.

I am sure Don can find a way to work in a Texas Holdem tournament.

Historical items are my hobby, so I'll throw a couple in here.

The rail trip from Williams to the Grand Canyon is very old. How old? Well, it was a siding by 1905, and probably before. The El Tovar Hotel at the Grand Canyon Rim (and just a couple hundred feet from the train station) was originally a Harvey House.

Never heard of it? Of course you have!

The depot where you will leave Williams for the Grand Canyon was also a Harvey House, called the Frey Marcos Hotel.

I have corresponded with kablewizard and we will be having a Texas Holdem Tournament during the National Rally. More details to follow as we get closer to the date of the rally.

Also, one night we plan to have an outdoor movie so you can pull up your easy chairs and favorite beverage and enjoy. Might even have some buttered popcorn.
