At this time the schedule of Vendors is being developed. I have not seen where a (mobile) Certified Instructor is available for a rally like ours.

One place where they do have a good driving course is at Lazy Days.

Maybe it's just the cabin's that are taking longer.

I did call again today, told her I was told on the 8th and then the 11th I would have my confirmation in 2-3 days. She looked it up, told me she couldn't send it via email yet, because they were having computer issues, and she can't put the reservation in until they were fixed. I did explain I want it in hand, because of air and car reservations, as well as another couple joining us, and she said she totally understood and she would try to do it on Monday.

Thanks Mike..that worked and I got my confirmation.

This is why I like confirmations. I got mine, but found that with the IRV2 discount, my reservation was $33 more than the regular price (and $63 more than the price I had been quoted). I guess the gal who gave me the 10% off, didn't realize she can't give the IRV2 discount and the weekly rate together so the amount she told me it was, was incorrect. So, I'm foregoing the IRV2 discount and just paying the weekly rate, since it's less with no further discount. Others renting cabins should take a close look at the price they were charged, if they are staying a week She said she will send me a new confirmation with the regular price on it.

Now you see why I didn't want to handle the site fees and reservations.

So you're saying that if you stay a week you get a better discount than the less than a week 10% rally discount.

I'm saying that if you stay a week, the weekly discount is better than the 6 days of a rally discount they will give you, and the full price of the 7th day. Hope that makes sense. If you are only staying for 6 nights, the rally discount might be better. You have to stay 7 nights to get the discount they offer to everyone.

And yes, I can see why you didn't want to handle this . Although I would have thought they realized I would rather pay the lower price LOL! Now to wait until I get an updated reservation.

That's good to know. There might be attendees coming in a day early or staying a day later (they have in past Rallies) that would qualify for the 7+ nights discounted price, so it would be important to know if members would save more money over the Rally price.

Something to check on (Mike) & report back.

I just spoke with our point of contact at the park. Vacation rentals are priced just about 2½ times more than an RV campsite. The vacation rentals have a free night attached to them which at the regular rate may save the renter about $20.00 over the rally rate plus still get a 7th night free. I'm thinking there is more margin in vacation rentals to work with so incentives are more likely.

The RV campsites are priced at a single rate, no weekend bump (Friday) plus a 10% discount. I went over the math with the camp and yes we are saving at the rally rate on RV campsites.

The way I understand it is; if you pay the regular rate, plus the Friday bump, +tax, "Yes" you can get a 7th night free but ultimately it will cost more.

Please feel free to discuss the options with the campground when you call them if you want to extend your stay or arrive early.
