Just curious. What is the selection process for selecting the time and place for the national rally's?

Jim, we generally shoot for mid summer so that kids and grand kids can attend. we have listed some of the criteria in the above post this one.

You want to volunteer to be a rally wagon master??????

Jim, a brief list of what we look for is in my post #6 in this thread. And, like Richard said, we did have a very large tent for the 05 Rally, so having a pavillion/meeting house is not necessarily a requirement. Yet we still need a covered venue for gatherings.

Another thing to mention is trying to avoid early/mid-June for a Rally because several northeast states schools don't let out until at least mid-June. We couldn't avoid it for the 09 Rally (due to the CG's other committments) & because of that, we had a large contingent of north east members not able to attend.

Ya'll lemme know when yer gonna have one out in the PNW, and I might swing by and say hello. I doubt I'd do full attendance, as these rallys tend to price me right out of the ballpark.

First, what is PNW? If I knew what that was I might want to come or then maybe not. You do raise a great question however. What would make it affordable for more iRV2'ers to attend? Maybe if one of the mod's could/would start a "how much would you pay to come to a national rally" thread we could get that information.

This goes back to my post about how is the "place" selected. I'm seriously considering getting involved in the 2011 but I need a lot more info and I can't seem to get any. Maybe there are no rules. There are hundreds of places for a rally with and without a rally hall.

Lori, I read number 6 and I understand that we need pull thru's and back in's, prefer a rally hall, things to do, shade and sun. That's easy. Who makes the decisions? Is there a committee? Is anyone in charge?

Well Jim and anyone else interested in knowing what goes on, there is some on the job training going on this year in Williams, AZ we always need volunteers to help out. Just send me an e-mail and I will set you up to help out. The Rallies are always lots of fun and the helping is too, no one works to hard but the wagon masters, I have watched Richard, and Don and Sandy do it 2 times each so I am doing it this year.

Come join the fun.

To answer your question, just a wild guess on my part really, but I'm going with Pacific North West. ED

The cost of fancy full hookup, pull-thru sites is beyond the budget for me, and maybe others also. Maybe a COE park or similar that offers us poorer retired on a fixed income old folks that 50% discount - BEFORE they eliminate it of course. Just my two cents before they go to IRS for useless health care taxes.
