Lori & Two jays, This is exactly what I was going to write about how we justify the rally running from Monday to Friday. A working man can take 5 days off from work and net 9. This is important for a lot of folks.

Time is also required for the personnel that fly in to present seminars during the work week. Monday thru Wednesday is a preferred day of the week target for these guys. On the weekends these guys want to home with their families.

When the vendors arrive, they setup on Sunday and they are off on the trailing weekend so they can get on the road for their next show.

The members that attend the National Rallies often will roll either the leading weekend (early bird) or trailing weekend into their stay as well for personal reasons (R&R). ( or both even )

That's not to say our Rally days can't be changed in the future, just insight as to why the days are what they are.

Lori-
Thanks Lori,

I don't want anyone to think that I posted that as a totally selfish reason (even though it is), I just though that there are probably many folks that may fall into the same situation as I am. I can see that there are two sides of this coin.

I will be back east around this time, but not as far as Tennessee by that time of the month, probably will be stilling working my way through north-eastern Wyoming, South Dakota and possibly WI and the UP.

Hay Dickson and Tracy,

I just punched up Sevierville Tennessee, and places to visit will be almost endless. There is Apple Barn Winery, and Hillside Winery, Forbidden Caverns, Museums of Aviation, Circle G Ranch, an indoor shooting range, and the one that I am putting on my must see list is Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies. And Dollywood, too. Looks like this is going to be a "day trip" filled week. Great location that you picked. Now, I'm going to do a search for a train ride, or, a train musuem.

Regards,

Here ya go, Rick: Great Smokey Mtn RR. It's an hour & a half from Sevierville, but it's worth going. We rode the Tuckasegee, but it takes the month of Sept off. The Gorge train will be running in Sept though. The drive over the state line on 441 to get there is windy but very pretty with overlooks where you can stop with beautiful views. There's a huge casino in Cheerokee also...if you're so inclined.

Lori-

P.S. We've also been to the Ripley's Aquarium. Loved the "tunnel", you're literally surrounded by fish!

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

Thanks Lori!

Now this is going to be a great trip. Railroad museum, indoor range, muscle car museum, and a train trip. Looks like the wife and I had better figure on spending a couple of extra days here.

Thanks again!!!!!

Seriously planning to attend for the 1st time.

Gonna look into coming for the 1st time. It will be a new experience for us. We went to a small rally for Camping World owners this summer and had a great time at a very reasonable price and hope to do the same there. A sad time here in WI to be putting the RV into storage. Have to make plans to look forward to for next year!!

This year at Bethpage in Urbanna, VA was our first time and we had a ball. Met lots of great people, some of which we now camp with monthly and keep in touch with. The cost was very reasonable and I am sure it will be again this year. Loads of things to do in the Pigeon Forge area. Seminars were on Monday and Tuesday and were interesting. Not sure what they will be this year. Sure hope you can make it. Sorry you are having to put the rig away. One advantage of living further south.

It's still too early for the schedule to be confirmed, but here is the schedule from the 2011 rally.

As a matter of fact, in the iRV2.com National Rally Forum, there are schedules of the last several Rallies, going back to 2005. You can check there for what we've done in the past.
