We will not be able to camp with you all that week, however we will stop by Sunday afternoon, the 16th and say hello to everyone. We may reserve a spot for Sunday night and pitch a tent for the night, leaving Monday AM. I have had to use up most of my PTO time from work dealing with family emergencies and although I am off for the weekend, I have to work on Monday night and Tuesday night. I will be off on Wednesday night and Thursday night, then back to work for the weekend. We still have not purchased another RV, as we can't figure out exactly what will suit our needs. Since we have a low mileage F-350 crewcab dually and want to tow our boat we will probably end up with a truck camper, however I don't want to overload our truck. We want a generator onboard the TC, and the smallest ones that I have seen are 9.5 feet, which will still require an extention hitch for the truck. Our boat weighs around 6K on the trailer loaded, so it leaves little capacity for the weight of a camper. I had considered a small 5th wheel, and do a double tow, however most of the small 5th wheels have just enough chassis to support the rig, and nothing near what it would take to tow a large sport boat behind. Besides most of the states are making double tows illegal, so that will not be a good option. Anyway, we will plan to stop Sunday at the campground and visit. If anyone has any problems on the NC side of the park, I will be glad to assist where I can. I work at the Cherokee Indian Hospital in Cherokee NC and we live in Bryson City NC. It is possible that we can join some of you on some day outings later in the week... Betty and Charles Spray

This will be our first rally and was wondering if a list of vendors and seminar topics will be available prior to arrival at the rally and if so when. Drove over to the rally site yesterday from Heiskell,Tn. and scoped out our site. The park looks good.

Yes there will be a program printed up ... ya can't tell the players without a program!

We are booking only 1 seminar day so far and we have a few vendors signed up already. I understand that one of our vendors is bringing in new Tiffin motor coaches as well as a few trailers.

TST will be there as well.

Hey, hang around this group for long and you'll soon own an RV - just a friendly warning. After all, insanity is infectious!

By all means, come join us.

Payment?

I've been away from iRV2 for a while and haven't caught up on all the posts about the rally yet. However, I did see the "More Information" link at the top of the page and that takes me to a page that indicates Step 1 is make a reservation. Done! Step 2 is pay for the rally. Doh! Am I the only person that has reserved and not paid? Yes, I know I have to pay. Do I pay now using the drop-down box or do we pay at the rally?

Nope you are not alone out there.....we have a reservation, but haven't paid....gotta get that done. But its me holding my money longer....makes me feel like I'm in control. I know, but its my illusion and I like it.

Same here. I'll probably pay in July. Have had my reservation to the park for months. Looking forward to meeting all of you there and catching up with friends we met last year.

Are there any accommodations dietary restrictions. My wife eats low fat meals by choice. I on the other hand, MUST maintain a gluten free diet due to a severe gluten allergy.

We are currently in the area at a different campground and will be through mid October. Is there any way we can participate in some of the activities without staying there?

This being my first iRV2 Rally so please do not shoot me if a ask a dumb question or two. I am not too sure as to how these go and my only point of reference is the Good Sam Rally we attended a few weeks ago in Louisville.

First off the Good Sam was massive with many vendors trying to sell stuff, Seminars everywhere, live entertainment all three nights, and on and on! I have attended a lot of Aviation and Energy Trade Shows and the Good Sam thing was a Trade Show in my opinion, not what I would really call a Rally ...it was very impersonal, not something I would want to do more then once or twice a year

Back to my question, what should we expect to experience at the iRV2 "National" Rally?

There are no dumb questions! This rally is nowhere near the size or scope of Good Sam. It is informal from start to finish. I think Driver has seminars lined up for Monday only. There will be vendors available, but last year I think there were less than 10. We will have groups going to different attractions such as Dollywood, the Smokey Mtn train ride etc. There was a informal campfire several nights, a band one night. Last year was our first rally and we got there a night or two early and walked around meeting others. Met alot of good folks during the week. The goal has been to reach 100 rigs. I think we are at 40? or so now. I hope you will give us a chance. We had a real good time last year.
