Good pics, Tedgard! We walked the 9:15 tour and then drove the 220th Trail this afternoon. Here are a couple from West Amana:

A hot day for sure, but interesting. Judy, who tends the basket shop, is a superb basket maker. She uses very fine (in the sense of tiny) materials, plus feathers and shells in her work -- and is fun to talk with as well.

Waiting for a fire to show up now. 92*, Lori? Really?

Morning walk

We were glad we picked the early morning walk. I think the temperature topped out around 102, outside and 84 in the 5 er. Next years project second air conditioner. Great dinner and company at the ox yoke.

It's OFFICIALLY hot

We surpassed Sevierville 2006!

It was actually just over 107 when I first spied the thermometer. By the time Dave got the camera focused & I got the towel out to have a good background, the breeze came & dropped it to this:

Lori-

Hey look at that - I just passed 11,000 posts.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

This is a picture of our Official Fire Starter who assumed his duties Monday night. his name is Jim Drmolka (rvjimmy?. He also added wood to the fire as needed. Due to the extremely dry condition a fire erupted on the outside of the fire ring. Jim than assumed the duties of Emergency Fire Warden and bravely put the fire out with his golf club. Later he sprinkled water all around the fire ring with a fire hose he arranged for previously.

We had about 30 members enjoying each others company. Tonight the fun starts all over again.

Well.. heck yeah! A golf club is the perfect all purpose tool for campfires. Poker, marshmallow roasting platform, awesome spit for shishkabobified meat bits, etc.

We sure have a great bunch of people here.

I never had the tools needed to do the job and Dennis brought his tools over and helped me out.

Dennis, I can't thank you enough for helping me with this repair! It looks really great!!!
