Mike, we had the same problem with a box appearing showing the site was not secure with the pre-registrations and rally payments for the 08 NR. I think...think is the operative word here...that Bill told me it has something to do with applicants server...but don't quote me!

Nonetheless, there is an option on that screen where it says "would you like to continue?" and many of us clicked on that and went straight through without any problems. Once you get past that screen, you're in paypal where it is secure!

It's a GLITCH and may/may not be fixed! I thought it was jinxed for the 08, but apparently not!

Sandy

I know we are all out there enjoying our summer. What is left of it that is. It seems like it goes by faster and faster each year. The same could be said for delaying your registration for next years rally. The next thing you know, it's here and then maybe it is too late to sign up.
You can see by the announcement it will be a fun packed week. You also saw John Canfield's review of the campground.
Keep an eye on the forum as new topics will be posted shortly discussing the SELF GUIDED TOURS, LEHMAN HARDWARE AND LONGABERGER BASKETS AND ROSCOE VILLAGE GUIDED TOURS and of course the excellent AMISH DOOR DINNER THEATHER

This area of Ohio is truly peaceful, quiet and beautiful. You really dont want to miss out on this rally. I've been to three rallies over the years and each one was unique and a pleasure to attend. This one will be no exception.
Please email me at islapp77@gmail.com or PM me here with any questions you may have.

In addition to Longaberger, isn't there several large pottery's you can tour or that have a retail floor, in the area?

Colette & Joe,

You might be thinking of Roseville Pottery. This is the pottery Ohio is famous for. It was made in SE OH (Zanesville area that Mike referenced above) from 1890 to 1954. Unfortunately, there is no new manufacturing of this pottery. It can only be gotten second hand.

The only pottery that I know of that would be in that "famous" area that would have a factory to tour would be Hartstone Pottery. It's very small, but they have lovely lines (personally, I like their Autumn Leaves & Russet Apple lines, of which I own several).

Zanesville Pottery is still around, too. No factory that I know of, but well worth the trip to shop the store.

About an 1.5hours away from the Rally campground is The Homer Laughlin China Co. This is a huge pottery, famous for the Fiesta line of dinnerware (still made). It's been a while since I was there, but I think they have 2 tours a day lasting about an hour each. There's an outlet there where you can get 2nds much cheaper than buying 1st run from retail stores.

We're working on the self guided road trips that will be showing up on the website before too long. It won't be any more trouble to add a pottery road trip to the list.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

Dave and Lori, It is the Heartstone that I am familiar with, I have some, and my best friend, who co-owned a pottery with me, is from Zanesville. All she has for dinnerware is Heartstone. We have both retired from making pots but still love it and enjoy seeing it.
Heartstone is where I will want to go.
Thanks for the info

I just read that Good Sam has rated the Evergreen RV Resort as one of the top 3 campgrounds!!

This just seems to be getting better all the time for our 2009 rally/reunion

Hey, that's great! All the more reason to sign up to come.

Ok, folks, lets get those registrations coming in. Joe-K hasn't added to the list for several weeks now. Let's give him something to do.

Three of us just spent Labor Day weekend camped at Evergreen. I want to tell you that everything they do is top notch and everything is so CLEAN!!
Their laundry room is cleaner than ours at home. Their shower house has individual shower rooms and sinks. The pool is great. The staff is super. I could go on and on. We should have some pictures up here shortly. But I think the best thing to do is to come and see for yourself!!

I'm interested - and will tell the wife she is too - about the 2009 rally in Ohio. Problem is: I can't find a link on the pages to get to the registration.
