I will try to be available to help anyone with a computer problem. I have 35 years in the business and 8 years as a Service Account Manager (Tech Support) with Dell.

Also if there is enough interest I will make update cd's for all MS operating systems. IE - 98SE, Win Me, XP (Home/Pro), W2K and Office 2000. I have all the documentation for each fix/patch on the cd. In addition I have XP SP2, W2K SP4, DirectX, .Net, IE 6, Java, Media Player etc. So let me know and I will post a list in this thread of who/whom wants what.

Be aware that I do not have fixes for back level items like IE 5.x and so on.

To use the cd you just run an Windows update, copy down the patch numbers, find them on the cd and install them. Once installed reboot and run another Windows update. This is to insure that you have all the latest fixes.

Last but not least ALWAYS have a backup just in case something goes south.

I will be making the MS Patch CD's in about 2 weeks, waiting for the July batch of fixes. I plan on making 5 Win 98/Me disks, 10 XP Home/Pro and 5 W2K disks. If anyone thinks we need more or less please post you wants and needs?

What is on the CD... There should be all the patches for 98/ Me, XP and W2K. Also, included are patches for IE, OE, Direct X, Net Framework, Java (MS/Sun), Media Player 9/10 etc. I also have all the doc files for each patch.

Lastly, I will make a few Office 2000 patch CD's for those that have it.

Cost - $0 I can't sell something that isn't mine and besides I am not a business.

This question may have been asked elsewhere, but is there Wi-Fi at the Rally location?

I think we should have had a rally slot scheduled with you for the good of everybody! There are a lot of problems that could have been discussed that are very common such as ; my computer runs too slow...what can I do?,WI-FI for the newbie, What is SPYBOT?...do I need it...and on and on. Maybe next rally

How about a simple class on taking your dig pictures and downsizing them for display on a puter. Could save a lot of time loading and bandwidth. Just and idea.
