We are leaving next Tuesday for Bethpage Camp & RV Resort. I will be attending the Virginia State Samboree. I bet that they won't have too much trouble putting 250-300 rigs in the park.

Colleen & I will be meeting with the Rally coordinator and fine tuning our schedule to include all of our activities. I expect to find out about games and equipment, evening camp fire and other activities. I will try to get a "Must See Destination" list together for Thursday so you can plan your time efficiently to visit local attractions.

There is lot's of stuff to see and do in the area all within 1 hour's driving time but we are pretty remote out in Urbanna. There are 2 WalMart stores North and South and each is 20 miles away.

Good thing that there's a really good Food Lion only some 2 to 3 miles away.

We arrived at about 1:00pm this afternoon and the storms were chasing us. The storms weren't too bad here but you could see lightning off to the North in the next county.

Right now it's nice out, the sun is out although setting. We're all setup and we'll be here for the next 4 days.

The VA Good Sams have erected a tent which spans something like 4 sites. They also have 2 smaller tents setup behind the large tent. I don't know what the tents are for exactly but we'll see.

It is reported that 260 rigs are coming to this rally and most of the attendees are from Virginia since this is their State Rally.

My VZ MiFi is working very well here compared to some other places where I have camped.

Mike, if you get a chance and are so inclined to do so, check out a little family-owned restaurant in nearby Kilmarnock. I cannot remember the name but it is in the middle of a block downtown and the food was outstanding when we ate there a few years ago (I hope it is still there). You know it is a favorite with the locals when everyone stops eating and checks you out when you come in the door (a out-of-towner really stands out ).

I will try to do that but absent that effort, let's plan on doing so when we both are here at the same time. We'll be here 2 days early setting up. Colleen and I past a white smaller stand alone building that is a restaurant, perhaps that was the one. It looked busy - expect it to be a local restaurant. I was speaking to some native Virginians here today, where it the world did I get my accent!

I was speaking to Juliann today. She's our rally coordinator. She gave me an envelope full of brochures about Williamsburg and the environs. I really don't know where to start but I expect that I will be going to the Virginia War Museum since there are just too many things to do. I figure that would take about 3 to 4 hours and on our way home we can stop at Yorktown. Yorktown is not at all that far away from here and you can see pretty much everything important there in about 2 hours.

We will be back in this area again before the National Rally and we are going to be camping in the Williamsburg area.

I was looking for US Naval Museums and although there is a major USN base here at Newport News it's a little short on tourist things. I thought for sure there would be a museum about Naval Airpower since this is the home base for many US aircraft carriers.
