For any motorcycle enthusiasts attending the rally, the H-D Assembly Plant is a short distance away in York, PA. I'm going to have my bike with me and am planning on taking a trip to the plant. Don't know which day yet, but am plaaning on it. It's been a few years since I've been there and I've heard there have been changes. Don't think they'll mind me showing up on a Goldwing.

Anyone else interested we can discuss a ride there during the opening session(s) of the rally.

K-star glad to hear your plans. I know of 2 members bringing their bikes. Of course it looks like I'm the only Harley in the group but that,s ok they have Goldwing parking in the back lot.

Here's a link to information on touring the York H-D plant.

Harley-Davidson York, PA Factory Tours

Children under the age of 12 are NOT permitted to take the tour.

There are other requirements and restrictions too. Click on the "TOUR SCHEDULE & GUIDELINES" on the right side of the page for complete information.

I took the tour back in 1995. It's very interesting and educational.

Kissimmee Kids (Rick) -

I traded my Harley (FLHTSU/I) in for a Goldwing last summer.

Aside from the tour, I am going to plan out other ride(s) through the country side. I'm bringing the `Wing with me.

Don't know about the others, but I guess I'll let a Harley follow me.

KStar, I volunteer to follow behind on my Wing just to make sure that Rick doesn't break down , or develop an oil leak, or something else. As far as parking is concerned, I intend to park as close to the front door as i can so that people going into that exhibit can view an example of the World's Number One Touring Bike.

I have both an Ultra Classic and an '04 Wing. Like them both. However, since I've had the Wing I've found that there is an overheating problem on some Wings, an ECM problem on some others, a brake recall (mines in the recall), a cracked frame recall (mines in the recall) a front tire shake and tire cupping problem, many of them came out with an improperly adjusted cruise control... well you get the idea.

My '89 Ultra had one problem- the base gaskets needed replaced. It needs a few other things now which are age related.

I like my "Worlds Number One Touring Bike" but it has flaws, also.

Sorry, my comment should have been marked with the sarcasm turned on, so you might understand that I wasn't necessarily all that setrious.
I'll leave it at that, and not get into a discussion on various problems that other manufacturers have had.
The comment wasn't meant to be a slam at H/D, no need to be so defensive.

Not defensive, I just call'em as I see 'em.

I've owned 16 bikes- 2 HD and 14 Japanese bikes. Evey single one had it's good and bad points. Out of those bikes my top three were my '83 Honda CB1100F , '00 Kawasaki 1500 Classic FI , and my '03 Honda ST1300 . The Wing is still earning its right to be included in my top three.

I never had a problem with y `00 HD. My wife is just more comfortable on the `wing.

Heck, with the back problems I'm having I may be getting rid of the `wing soon too.
