We are home in Houston safe and sound. On the way home we had a flat tire on the TT, we were warned by the tire monitor in time to pull in to a gas station. We must have hit something on the road as there was a hole in the tire. Paul Montgomery was traveling with us and he assisted Marvin in changing the tire. Thanks again Paul.
The Rally was a wonderful experience and we look foward to future rallies. Thank You to everyone that made the experience so unforgetable. I will be working on our Blog
www.ridalltravels.blogspot.com/ to share our wonderful time with friends and family.

I arrived home safe and sound about 8:30 pm on Sunday. While Gayle, Tom and I were traveling between Monroe, LA and Prattvilee, my daughter called and informed me that my refrigerator had stopped running, so I came on to GA to deal with that.
Enjoyed my time in Texas. Seeing old friends and meeting new ones. I wish everyone a great rest of the year.
Til we meet again on the dusty trails,
Jacki

Well we got a later start yesterday than I wanted... (Cathy and Ashley TRIED to sleep way to late)

But we pulled in a little after 1600 hrs yesterday. All I got to do was park the rig, run around in the waterfall, get my uniform on, get in my unit (PAtrol car) and head to South Baton Rouge. I had a paid detail scheduled at Copelands from 1800 hrs unitl midnight. So our getin home a LITTLE later was a bit of a pain for me...

But we made it!

Each time I go on a "Road trip" the drive home keeps getting harder and harder to do.....

Someday...........................

Hello everyone! Glenn's Mom is back at her assisted living home and doing pretty well, considering. She gave us all a scare. She is having some heart problems and was feeling dizzy and light headed so his sister took her to the hospital and they admitted her for tests, etc. She got to come home this Saturday. However, Friday, 7/25 was her 92nd birthday and we had a little party for her in her hospital room. She said she hopes that next year she won't be in the hospital when her birthday comes again!!

Looking forward to seeing all of you again. I have a few pictures on my camera from Perrin and I think Don Allen has some also - maybe he can put them on the site somewhere.

Thanks again for all your good wishes and see you soon.

Bill and I got home today, 7/31/08, 3:30 EDT, and guess what he is mowing grass. After unloading the camper and doing the wash I suggested he wait a day. What a glutton for punishment..

The trip home was good, no problems just the heat and of course diesel prices. I have not added up the total yet BUT it was money well spent. WE HAD A GREAT TIME with a lot of GREAT PEOPLE.

The Hammetts are finally home. We had an hour 40 minute delay west of Baton Rouge for a truck fire. The truckers in the area were not too thrilled with the delay in opening the highway after the fire was out.

We spent a couple days in Mobile, including a nice birthday gathering for Ken , before coming home Thur evening. We went through a couple of heavy storms north of Mobile and again just south of Atlanta, but we made it through. TV reported the Atlanta storms dropped 4-5 inches of rain. Also it was dark and there was highway construction. Fun.

Anyway, the kids are medicated, changed, and in bed. The old folks will follow shortly.

It appears that all the "out of staters" have arrived home from their trip to Texas....now "mother hen" can rest easily knowing all the "chickadees" are safely home!

To those who came the distance, I send you the biggest and most sincerest thanks for coming. I fully realize the cost (time, distance and fuel prices)it took to get here and back home.

Each of you made it special!

Sandy
