This thread as to let everyone know you made it home safely from the National Rally in Perrin.

We are not home yet. We stopped to visit with a forum member (L.D.) in Shreveport. We have not seen L.D. and Willie in a year or so. We pulled into L.D. and Willie's driveway yesterday around 4 pm. Had supper at a seafood restaurant last night. Then visited and caught up on what's been happening until 10 pm last night. Breakfast is cookin now.

Our plan is to be home this afternoon if all goes right.

Catch Yall Later,

Don, Cathy, Ashley and Missy the Boston Terrorist

Well, we posted in the rally thread as have several others.

After a short unplanned touring detour, 4 of the Houston rigs arrived home safely....no mishaps, etc.

Now to clean up the truck and trailer....

My trip home was enjoyable but expensive. I filled up ($125) when we left the Perrin area. That took 2 charges since they had a $99 limit on fuel purchases. I stopped again to fill up just before I got home and again it took two times to fill up my tank (another $125). The second charge was denied on my debit card. I knew there was enough money in the account and it should have gone through but I just gave them another credit card to pay for the balance of my gas. This morning I got a call from Wells Fargo Fraud Dept. They thought my card might have been stolen. I had to explain that with the high cost of fuel, that was what it took to feed my motorhome. They removed the block on my card so I can go fill up my Explorer today.

Barbara, I did not bother to keep track of the fuel cost..it would be too depressing and might make the trip a lot less enjoyable. I know it cost some $$$$, but what-the-hey, I enjoyed the trip.

Hamie,

I had that happen and I used Austex Glass out on 290 going toward Manor. Great folks. They do it right. I even had mine reset after a year, as was coming loose and they did it for free.

It wasn't really unplanned. Actually, Madame Boomer loves Dr Pepper, and there's a famous Dr Pepper museum in Dublin. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!!

Made it back safely, a tad bit hot but made it fine got back about 4:30 and resetup at Houston West. Back at the house our youngest daughter (Leza) had a delicious supper of homemade Chicken Parmesan, absolutly delicious, she's quite a cook. Fantastic Rally Sandy, will get all my pictures to you.

Not home yet. We made the first day to Shreveport, then last night to Lafayette. We'll be in Mobile tonight if we ever get moving this morning. After a couple of days there, we'll head home in mid week. (It's nice to be retired and be able to go slow when we want to.)

We had a great time in Perrin once we found it. (Thanks GPS and the dirt county roads they routed me on.) Many thanks to Sandy and her crew for the efforts they put in to make it a success.
