Exclamation Late Breaking Information .....

Our Rally Coordinator called me yesterday and she wanted to let me know what the the outcome of their rally staff meeting was. During the meeting they reviewed the latest forecast and they are expecting some significant rain over the next few days.

Here is the problem with that. The sites that we have been currently assigned have a tendency to be wet after a sustained rainfall. The campground does not want anyone to be upset with their campsite and they want everyone to be a happy camper. What they did to address this is that they are moving the entire block of campers further into the campground by moving us 3 streets over to the left beginning at Rhododendron.

Bethpage Site Map (PDF)

What's important for you to know is that (most) everyone gets to keep their same numeric site number - just the street name will change.

The Registration Tent and my site number will be on RH03. Look for the iRV2 Registration sign.

An updated parking list will be provided to me today and I will post the updated list by the end of the day.

Sustained Rain???? Do I just stay home and take my losses or do I drive a thousand miles and squish around in the mud?

Doc, The rally is next week and the forecast is for much better days and little is any rain for that time. The sites we are moving to are the preferred sites that most all rally groups that come here like to book. I just camped in this area last spring with the VA Samboree and these are good sites. I do not remember any mud.

Now about weather forecasts; It was supposed to have rained here in Conway over the past 3 days with up to 50% chance of rain and not a drop. So they may get rain and then may not but what I applaud is that they wanted to take care of any situation up front just in case.

Just bring your galoshes & slicker & we'll still have a good time, Doc.

That's great BP is concerned about our accomodations & want us to be satisfied. We thank them for that. Customer good will goes a long way. I'm sure there will be a lot of postings here about BP, both during & after the Rally, for all our members to see. That plus the word of mouth impressions passed along by those of us attending will go a long ways to bringing them further business. A win-win for us & them.

I hope everyone still makes the trip. I am so looking forward to this rally, whether rain or shine. Frank and I hope to learn from the seminars, but especially looking forward to meeting everyone.

I think we have an excellent mix of seminars and vendors and I wish we had more.

Now what would have made my day would have been to get 100 rigs in the park. That's what I was trying for. I am hoping that all the attendees from this rally will go out and tell a friend and bring a friend next year.

I'm sure that we are going to have a swell time!

We shove off in 4 days ....

Bethpage is our "home campground"..

The new locations are just as good as the original locations.. they are newer sites.

If the staff at Bethpage thinks that the new sites are on firmer soil.. I believe them..

So.. y'all come on down!!

And.. we here in Virginia have had lots and lots of rain recently. Lots.. over a foot.

DriVer;

I appreciate BP being proactive in its accommodations adding to our enjoyment. We have been planning on this trip for months and I want to tell you we have no intentions on backing down now. We will be getting on the road on Thursday morning as planned. I sincerely hope no one changes their mind. Bev has been looking forward to this trip and if I changed my mine I would be living in the coach by myself and I would not have access to the 10 dozen cookies she baked and is bringing along.

The Weather Channel's 10 day forcast for the Urbanna area, 10 Day Weather Forecast for Urbanna - weather.com is sunshine next week except for a chance of rain on Tuesday.

Thanks for the weather link to Urbanna. Typical of Virginia's weather, the rain for Thursday has been taken out, and it has less than an hour since your post.

Breakfast with Mayor and Mrs Morgan's cookies will bring back memories for me and better yet allow me and everyone else the opportunity to make new memories!

Let's get this thing in gear!
