Nashville's starving artists

We have a friend who's sister and her daughter (known as The Taylors) play in Nashville at Layla's and the Wheel. What I didn't know is that ALL the performers in the clubs play for TIPS only. That is there pay! There are so many artists in Nashville that the clubs don't pay anything . So just a heads up - being cash for tips when you check out the clubs!

I've always wondered about starving artists. How do they afford paint and canvas if they can't buy food?

It's not just Nashville. Playing for tips or getting paid from a cover charge is a common practice in clubs all over the nation. Unless an act has a large following and can guarantee customers coming to a venue the club owners don't want to pay.
