I would like to invite people going to the National Rally to join the Florida Boomers in a Caravan to Pennsylvania. We would be leaving Saturday June 18th from Kissimmee Fl and pick up campers along the route up to the National Rally. Planned arrival would be in the afternoon of June 19th. Our route will be determined by the location of campers wishing to join the fun. If youare interested reply here or on the Florida Boomers site.

What a swell idea! You could even assign an FRS channel and communicate between rigs on the way up!

I'm interested if the route is conducive. From our home we get on I-26 an take it to its end at I-81 and head north from there. What's your tentative route?

Y'all still planning to caravan?

Also, as a reminder, May 1 is the absolute deadline (after two extensions) to make final payments for the registration fees.

See y'all there!

Richard

Having not heard any more from Rick & Cheryl on this caravan proposal since the original post date in February, "Sportsman" and I are making plans to caravan to the rally via the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Skyline Drive. It'll be a leisurely, casual pace camping at some of the Parkway's and Skyline Drive's campgrounds along the route. We'll pull into various scenic overlooks and enjoy the beauty of this part of the country along the way.

We'll get off the Skyline Drive at Front Royal and then head to the rally from there, probably taking I-81 or possibly US-340/SR-194/SR-116/US-30.

We're going to haul some firewood with us, stop at places that have no hookups, and carry portable generators in case we need 110 volts. Currently we plan to leave about June 10/11 and arrive at the rally around June 18 or 19. Itinerary and/or plans are subject to change as the mood strikes us.

Anyone want to meet up with us and tag along?
