Thumbs down Not Exciting

When will the management and administration of this community take charge?

Andy initiated this mess and now seems to be hiding. This rambling, going no where thread, is hog wash....if you know farming that means it stinks.

This thread needs taken down and replaced with leading and worthy preliminary information about the 2011 rally as has been done with previous rally management.

Somehow this all seems familiar.....

The dates and location for the 2011 National Rally has already been decided. The rest of the posts are ideas being tossed around by members for future rallies.
The way I see it, the more ideas.....the better! We need someone to step up to the plate and host future rallies....and not change their mind at the last minute and leave someone else to pick up the slack!
By the way, the 10th anniversary reunion rally was a HUGE SUCCESS!

Ted, I'm not sure what is fueling your displeasure this morning but Andy posted this thread with good intent. It was the focus of this thread to include iRV2 members in the decision process and Andy has accomplished that having generated over 200 replies.

The 2011 National Rally is under contract from September 25th to October 1st, 2011 at the Bethpage Camp & RV Resort.

We want to keep this thread open to get the thoughts & ideas of members on what they want to see in a National Rally. It's our members who take the time to come to & enjoy our National & we want to be able to get their input on what/when/where they want one.

Andy will, shortly, change the thread title to something more encompassing of the posts, so's Mike can actually have the "2011 National Rally" name for his threads when registration & further details start coming about.

We were actually waiting for commitee members to come forward with requested documents so we can make the announcement and figure out pricing.

Doc, you crossed in the wrong area.

The Kansas State Fairgrounds is a nice place to hold a rally of this size. 211 full hookup sites with more dry camping site possible. The price is also right. Lots to see also. Salt Mine tour, Cosmosphere, top of the line golf course that has hosted the PGA Seniors and Ladies PGA tour, two wildlife refuges within one hour drive just to mention a few of things to see and do in Hutchinson

Andy, you can PM me for more info.

NC, VA, WVA in the Fall. Great temps, fall colors. October is usually busy out there, but September is usually a slow month. So, take it from there.

Branson?

What about Branson at Treasure Lake RV Resort? Treasure Lake RV Resort is a beautiful private 5 star resort in Branson. It has over 500 sites on 300acs. Just google for more info. They have a huge pavilon and club house at no extra charge. No down payment or advance reservations. As a member, I just need an estimate of rvers about 6 weeks before rally date to let them know. Lots of aminities. Their rates for next year is $15 for full hook ups for guests. $5 for members and ctc members $10 ????. If you think you all would like to consider, just let me know.

Thanks for the suggestion, kcsunshine. We've had 2 National Rallies in Branson, 2002 & 2007 & our members certainly enjoyed themselves there. If we follow the trend, that'd put us back there in 2012. Not out of the question if our members want to go there again & if the resort is accomodating to our needs. For an idea of Rally attendee numbers, you can see this thread in the Wagonmasters Forum. Having a wagonmaster for that venue would go a long way towards considering Branson again for another National Rally.

I see Treasure Lake RV Resort is an ownership resort. Would rally attendees be subject to a membership sales pitch in exchange for holding a Rally there? That is something that would impact the decision making process.

sip,

Thanks for the suggestion. The location for the 2011 iRV2.com National Rally has already been determined (see post 213 above), but keep the ideas comin' for future locations.

We were there in 2009 for seven days. Having an RV on the balloon fiesta grounds is the best way to catch all the goings on and is truly a bucket list event. On the other hand, the Presidents Compound where we were is no more than a paved parking lot with water and 30 amp electric. Not really geared for a rally in my opinion, though some groups do gather there for the event. Unless you are willing to dry camp at more outlying areas around the balloon grounds, rates for the Presidents Compound parking lot are as high as $150/night and require reserving many months in advance.
