IMO this thread is the most convoluted confusing mix I have seen and read on this web site.

I still think the Black Hills Area of South Dakota is the best compromise. Lots to do. Great weather in the summer--May to September, and equidistant to most parts of the USA. Date should be chosen close to Winnebago GNR, FMCA International, Good Sam Rallys.

Lol Some people just don't give up,the 2011 rally location has been planned. Maybe in the future you could host one in SD! Some of us that went to the Williams.Az. rally toured that area also as long as we were already out west.

It is a fantastic area & one I've always wanted to visit. All we need is someone or team to step up, agree to be the wagonmasters, submit a preliminary proposal (dates/campground agreed to host us) & in all likelyhood, the 2012 iRV2.com National Rally in the Black Hills would be a go.

The Hills are a great area, we have spent months there. It is also a busy area during the season. Finding a CG that would be willing to take on the challenge of providing sites for 3 or 4 dozen rigs might take some doing. Broken Arrow comes to mind just off the top of my head. http://http://www.brokenarrowhorsecamp.com/index.htm
Beautiful view of the Cathedral Spires from there. Five miles from Custer State Park and tons of animals roaming around free. Two grocery stores, multitude of tourist stores in downtown Custer. Short drive (5-6 miles maybe?) up to Crazy Horse www.crazyhorsememorial.org/monument/
Keystone and Mount Rushmore are at the end of a great drive up Iron Mountain Road. The monument is free, but they charge an arm and a leg for the parking.
There is a lot to see and do in the area, but it is about 3 days from our place in N Georgia so it is even further for some of the guys further north in SC, NC and Va.
Great trip out, especially in the spring when the prairies are greening up.
