Official Radios - FRS
I plan on using FRS radios to communicate with the parkers on registration day. If you are going to be a National Rally volunteer, please bring your FRS radios if you have one.
We'll pick a channel later on.

Note: Many of the small portables you buy at the electronics stores are FRS/GMRS
FRS is chan's 1-14 and if it has a high/low power setting low power, No license required.
GMRS. is 1-I think it goes to 21, and can use higher power. LICENSE REQUIRED
Fee for unlicensed operation can be kind of ... Serious.
Suggestion.. Pick a low chan.. Put a sign at the gate 'We are using FRS channel xx for parking RV's"

Have you ever heard of anyone getting fined for using the GMRS channels on their FRS radios? Just wondering........

cb5300, just because no has been fined, does not open it up to use illegally. I like many other amateur radio operators studied and passed an FCC license exam. The GMRS license has a fee but no test.
Running a stop sign and not getting a ticket does not make it OK to run stop signs.
wa8ymx was just making a point of the current FCC laws.
