When I first wrote the Rally description, I stated that I would put up the Potluck list 30 days before the rally, so here it is.

The Potluck dinner is on Tuesday (9/27) (5:30-7:00) evening and the breakfast is going to be on Friday (9/30) (7:30-9:00) morning. Note that there is a full sized grocery store, a Food Lion, about 2 to 3 miles from the campground. They should have just about everything you might need. You have the choice to make something or just pick something up.

In your estimates as to how much food you should prepare, figure that you are making food for 6-8 people including your party.

The following lists have been put together alphabetically by last name and the lists won't make a lot of sense to you since they list screen names. I made 3 Groups for the meals for Dinner and Breakfast. For example; If I had 3 members that were named, Anderson, Barrett and Bell and they were actually 1,2 &3 alphabetically, each of these names was assigned to a separate group. The next persons on the list (example) 4,5 & 6 were then assigned to a group. #4 went to Group1, #5 went to Group2 and finally #6 went to Group3 ... and so on. So you can see that the names are spread across 3 groups and are not all bunched up in a block. It’s all about the luck of the draw and not so much on your last name. OK that's set, I hope. If there are any questions just let me know.

If there are any late registrations those people will be assigned to a group as they sign up. I am trying to keep the groups to a maximum of 44 persons if possible.(*)

Al, Hey thanks for putting up those pictures! We certainly did it right in Myrtle Beach for the 10th Anniversary Rally and it went off better than I expected.

Potluck dinners are fun!

Attention Rally Attendees;

I expect to get more eMails and PMs about the "Potluck" event and that's what I am here for.

Please know that no one is under any obligation to participate in the potluck meals. The potlucks are totally optional and is only offered as an event because you've requested it.

We have always had a lot of fun at our potluck events no matter which Region or which National Rally held held the potluck. It's only intended to bring folks together in camaraderie and have fun.

When you you come into the campground (<--- LEFT TURN) to get parked and register; I will make sure that there are 2 check boxes for potlucks - one for Dinner and one for Breakfast. If you are going to participate in the potlucks we will make a note of it at that time. If you are not asked about the potluck you can always let us know on Sunday night at the "Welcoming Social."

We may have to move folks around to even up the groups if it gets too lop sided, otherwise if you have already pre-made something and froze it - "Bring-It." There are no penalties if you bring something outside of your group recommendations. In the unlikely event that folks need to be moved around, we will make that announcement Sunday during the social or by Monday morning at breakfast.

I wrote: "For dinner, Group 2 members should bring:" Now the reason for the recommendation it to try and balance out the food groups. The line reads should bring not must bring. I want this to be a fun event so if you want to make "tipple upside down sideways pineapple rutabaga surprise" ... you go right ahead.

Aaahhh Thank you very mush ....

Hey Mike, does Dotti and Gene just bring what we bring so we would bring double? Do we let you know what we are bringing? Since we won't have an RV, and not knowing what our cooking utensils are, can we just bring fruit for breakfast (should it just be all melon?).
Then for the dinner pot luck, we would bring double bread and butter (cause I don't know if we can cook any of the other items)?

I believe that you are all the same group, I don't see a problem with it.

No ma'am. No accountability - that why we call it a pot luck, just please bring a food item that's in your group and that would be appreciated.

There is a Food Lion about 3 miles from the campground and there is a smaller grocery store in town. There is no need to cook if you don't want to. You're on vacation. You can pick something up - and that's all you need to do. I will be going to the grocery store just about every day for stuff.

There is no restriction as to what you can bring just please try to stay to the food guidelines in your group because that will give us a good assortment of all the food groups. A loaf of Italian or other bread and butter ?? They can slice the bread right there at the deli counter. Sounds great to me.

Yum.............I'm getting hungry just thinking about the pot lucks! We're leaving Monday or Tuesday and going to spend a night on the road in Virginia on the way north, then arrive in the Richmond area to check out some civil war sites then get on over to Bethpage. Really looking forward to it!
