Mike,
You will also have to let us know how you want to sked the install's. Have to plan them along with the other things the people may be doing that week.
Will you guys be there Sunday or Monday and you are there the whole week, is that right?
Mike

ISLAPP,

When we get to the rally,we'll have you pull your ECM out so we can install the chip.It requires simple hand tools,we only have to do this on the Ford's.

I do not mean to steal this thread, but since I have signed up too, I was wondering if the programming change helps the shift point where OD kicks in? There are situations where I feel the torque is there at 48 or 50 MPH, but OD waits until 52 MPH. I know there is not much difference, but the higher RPM is burning fuel I feel could be saved with OD kicking in sooner.

On the other hand the engine will turn 1800 RPM or less at about 48 to 50 miles per hour and it'll stay in over drive whereas other engines without the low end torque would have shifted out of over drive. This averages out your fuel economy. You can set your cruise control to 50 say on the way up, hit 55, resume the cruise and back off on the gas and you'll wind up at 50 MPH in cruise in 5th or 6th gear at lower RPM. No problem. Allison's TCM sets that shift point to 55 and I don't think they want to back off on that too much.

Now whether or not Ultrapower can change that or not, I'm not certain if it can or would want to.

Send a message via AIM to Oemtech
Depending On what "tuner" program Brazel's is using will dictate if they can make changes to the TCM. To my knowledge most current tuning software (HP Turner, EFI Live etc) don't support the Allison TCM. But, I suspect that Brazel's as an authorized WCC service center has at least one tech that is authorized to use the Allison TCM Reflash program. But, I am not sure that the tool can reset the values you want. More info on the Allison Reflash can be viewed at Allison Transmissions
