What, Doc? You mean fudge and hamburgers aren't part of the basic food groups? I'm shocked. And then there's Joeys Dogs, but that's another post...

Yup. Went there with you guys during the October rally. Looks like it'll be Joey Doggs for lunch and Fuddruckers for dinner. Life is good.

We are spending the month in Upstate NY and Vermont before going to the rally. Then we have to hurry back to NC for our Grandaughters birthday party on Sunday. After that, who knows. Maybe to see some friends in Georgia.

Great news today!! Subpoena for jury duty for the rally!!
Second subpoena since I retired. They know I will not be put on a jury. What lawyer wants a retired LEO on a criminal jury? Got to go kiss up to a judge or two and get this thing taken care of. Too much money invested and too much anticipation to have to miss this rally.
On the other hand, I am too much afraid of a bench warrant and jail to not show up!
Ya'll keep your fingers crossed for me.

Last year a jury summons was mailed to me while we were out of town on a lengthy trip. The appearance date came and went before we got home. When we returned, I sent a 'sorry I missed you' reply to the court clerk and never heard anything more.

Only 3 weeks notice!. That's not enough time! At least where I'm at, jury duty subpoena's are given several months out (6 months, I think).

I'm sure if you explain your circumstances, you'll get a pass. I sure want to get the chance to meet you.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

Thank goodness for small counties and nice folks. Just got back from the Clerk of Superior Court office. Talked with the Clerk herself. We have known each other for a few (25-30) years. I got deferred until the spring session of Superior Court and offered a job at the same time!
Something to do with the tax re-evaluation board for people contesting their tax bills. Now that will be a great place to make friends
So I do that for a while and get to come to the National in Virginia this month.
