Where's everybody coming from?

Looking at Mike's attendee list, it looks like Florida and North Carolina are tied at six rigs each for highest representation so far at the 2011 rally. Texas and Virginia are next with three each. Then Ohio, New Jersey, and Illinois have two each. IN, NY, SC, PA, MI, MA, TN, and WI have one each. Eight other folks on the list don't have their states listed so that could change the distribution a bit. Still lots of time to register for anybody still thinking about it.

The Texas Boomers just about overran the 2010 rally out in Williams. Where are all you guys this year?

This rally being on the East Coast, I would think that there would be more units from the east showing up.

I punched up Bethpage on Mapquest, and it gave me three routes from Urbana, IL. Trailer Life Directory Software gave me a route via Washington D.C., and my Garmin 465 T tells me to go to Lousiville, KY, then east on I-64. I know a guy who has a new Rand McNally RV5510, and it doesn't even list Bethpage as a campground.

So, maybe......not where your coming from, but how are you going to get there???

Yes, I know, there is always one in the group, right??????

It's just a bit too far for us this year. We are settled in the stick. Now we could travel a bit more. Do we have someplace in mind for 2012??

The iRV2 national rally (all iRV2 rallies for that matter) is an all volunteer effort. We haven't had a national rally in Canada yet. BC is nice in the summertime.....

This Texas Boomer is coming from Katy, TX. Katy is 25 west of Houston on I-10. This will be our first trip to the east coast. We are looking forward to coming.

Dave and Jo > What route are you going from Florida? Trying to figure the best/most interesting and avoid the 95 problems.
Or perhaps you are not going from Florida?

Doc,
Hadn't gotten that far in our planning yet. Yes, we will be leaving from FL. Once we get our New England trip behind us than we'll look at the rally trip. We kicked around the idea of going up via Myrtle Beach but really haven't made any decisions. On the way back from Bethpage, we're thinking about heading west to the BRP and then south though we may be a week or two early for the fall colors. Haven't talked to Jim&MJ lately. Don't know what their plans are. There's other folks from FL going too. Maybe some of them will chime in.

You have anything in mind??

Jim&MJ are going to be in N Georgia at Hiawassee (For a month???) or so at River Bend - I think we are going to visit with them for a few days and then head further north. Trying to figure whether or not to come back home before the National or just stay out. Kids are going to say come back we know. Seems like we are expert chauffeurs, baby sitters, counselors to the college type grand kids and general 'we like it better when we know you are where we can call on you'.
If ya'll are in the area in August, why don't you stop in Hiawassee?
Right now I have commitments in Atlanta in the 30th with friends returning from Sweden and then we are off the the M of D for a while.

On our way home from New England, we're aiming for a rally at Reed Bingham State Park on August 18-21 near Adel, GA. Before that we may stop at MofD for a couple of days and then somewhere around Blairsville/Hiawassee before continuing back south. All depends on our energy level on the way back.

Talking Jim & MJ in Va!

Hi All,

I am also hopefuly going to hook up with Jim & MJ before the rally at Bull Run Park in Centreville,VA off of I -66. I just have to see if I can move a meeting date up, so I can spend a couple of days with them there. As far as I know they are still plaining on going there!

See ya all in about 91 more days if not sooner !!!
