Smile 10 year Winnebago RV Family New to iRV2

Hello Everyone,

We have camped all our lives from tents, to pop ups, to trailers, to small motor homes, to larger motor homes. Our family, 2 boys ages 19 and 15 and our two golden retrievers, love the outdoors and would rather be outside than inside. We currently live in the Kansas City area. The joy of the journey to our destination is just as fun for us as the destination itself, very often.

We have been traveling and camping in our 2008 Winnebago Vista for the last 10 years and have recently sold it in hopes of stepping up into a "new to us" diesel pusher.

I've been looking on line, been out to drive a few in the area, but just so overwhelmed with what is and is not available. I understand all the internal systems of a motor home but need help with the chassis and diesel part. I am pretty handy but not a mechanic and have seen and heard so much about what to look for and not.

Looking forward to many years of interactions with all of you!!

Welcome and good luck on your search. Lots of good info here for you. You might want to look at the owners forums and then post specific questions about various rigs you are looking at in the appropriate forum. Again good luck

Welcome, we spent 17 years in the KC area. We also had a 2007 Itasca Suncruiser and traded it last year on our 2017 Newmar Ventana. When you settle on a DP you will be shocked at the difference in ride and handling. Good luck on your search and welcome aboard!

Where to Start Looking for a new to us DP

Thank you for all your help!!

We are looking for a used DP with good power and reliability, around 40 ft in length, would like a king bed if possible. We need at least 1 extra bed for our 15 y.o. son. Our budget will allow us to finance about $100k. I have driven an 1995 Itasca Horizon 40KD, and a 2008 American Coach. The Itasca had the power I was looking for but is no longer available.

We live in Kansas City and just would like suggestions on where to start the search. Online, door to door, etc.

If this is to vague please say so.
