Dale Choate;

Welcome to iRV2. I previously owned a coach on a 97 Ford Chassis and it turned out to be a bad vacuum hose causing a vacuum leak. I would encourage you to make a post in the Newmar Owners Forum and you should get some responses there.

Don

Dale, the newer model Fords also have the same problem, they attempted a fix by installing a larger vacuum reserve tank, but that didn't help much. As Don mentioned could also be a bad vacuum hose so I would also check that. My idea of a permanent fix on would be to install an electric vacuum booster pump, but just hate to go to that expense. The only time ours does like yours is when pulling steep grades and that doesn't happen all that often.
