Smile 1997 Beaver Marquis

We've had our Marquis for almost a year and have enjoyed it for the most part. We're about to retire and want to travel this year, so any info will be helpful in starting this latest adventure in our lives. We are thoroughly excited about it!

Welcome to the forums.

A so obvious piece of advice you've already thought of it "Never confuse Fresh & Black".

- Take your time, even if you retire late you have literally decades of RVing time. Currently we live to 82 and climbing every year, children born today according to the Royal Institute are expected to live well past 100.

- Take a look at everything of interest. El Monte for example has some starting info on itinaries you can adapt, listings of car shows/ antiqueing etc. Each state and national park including the lesser known have their beauty. For example many people think Zion, check out Bryce Canyon for a completely different beauty. There is at least one resort in the Poconos when you want a change of pace where they have rooms with hottubs in the literal shape of a champagne flute. Yep you're high off the ground. Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown. So much to do. Have you been aboard Old Ironsides yet? Take a funicular ride in Pittsburg? Maybe one in Niagara Falls? Visit the Royal Ontario Museum? Chicago Institute of Science and Technology? Been to every museum in DC? Ottawa? Wine touring from California to Ontario?

You'll have so much to do you'll want to declare a 16 month year...

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the words of encouragement. One thing we've learned over the last year is that owning a large motorcoach is like owning an airplane - everything has to be checked before operation and routine maintenance is vital! Hope we can meet up with you fine folks somewhere down the road!
