We are thinking of puchasing a used 2003 Jayco Avatar but have heard they had many problems with them causing Jayco to stop making them. Can anyone share experiences, opinions, etc. regarding this model?

Sarg62, welcome to iRV2.

I'm sure you'll have some opinions shortly.

Keep us posted on your purchase.

Sarg62, welcome to iRV2. We are glad to have you join us here. Sorry I do not have any experience with the Jayco Avatar. I am going to put a shortcut of this topic into the New Members Section so others can welcome you and get some more exposure to your question. Good luck and enjoy the hunt.

Don't know about problems, but they were not a success in the marketplace. Jayco may have quit the Class A business simply due to poor sales. Trailers - and to a lesser extent Class C's - have always been their strength.

Hi and welcome to iRV2, Sarg62. It is my understanding that they went into the class A business ill-prepared and had a very tough time marketing their new coaches. Those that I saw seemed to be well made and designed.
