We are having a cruise control issue. The chassis is an f53. I have seen other people talking about a recall. My husband and I are new to RVing. Where do we find out about the cruise control recall to see it affects us. Our cruise quit working. The RV places tell us to go to Ford and Ford tells us to go to RV place. Please help

Ford would be the one to take care of the cruise, it's. Part of the chassis. Google cruise control recall and that should take you to a page that you can search in.

Many "regular" Ford dealers don't (or won't) work on RVs. Find a Ford Truck Dealer. They should help with your problem.

Get your VIN number, go to any Ford Dealer and they should be able to tell you if you were part of the recall. Make sure you tell them your cruise control quit working. This will be a big red flag for them and will light a fire under them to look at your RV, (no pun intended with the fire remark)

They may or may not be able to do the work.

I'm friendly with my local Ford Dealer, although they don't work on RVs (Their service bay isn't big enough), the manager said to swing by, and they would do the inspection and install the recall harness in the parking lot. It took them longer to fill out the paperwork than it did for the tech to do the inspection and install the harness.

The inspection is to see if you have one of the problematic switches. the harness adds two fuses that will blow if the switch shorts out.

Before the recall, the switch would short out, the wire bundles would melt and short, and you would have a fire.
