2007 Itasca Suncruiser hydraulics

I've been reading this forum for awhile now because it frequently pops up when I search a question online. We were sailors for 20 years (40 ft Valiant) but have now moved to an RV. This forum reminds me of the Valiant users group forum, both great resources.

We bought a 2006 Itasca Navion a couple of years ago. It's been great but we now have a grandson and it's just not big enough. So we're on the hunt for a larger rig and are looking at a 2007 Itasca Suncruiser. It's a private sale and the owners have been very forthright about the unit. They had to replace the hydraulic hoses on the levelling jack system and one slider. The people who replaced them in Canada thought the lines were too small to begin with. I talked to Winnebago about it and they had no history of similar problems. The owner also said the engine ran rough when they bought it at 3000 miles. A mechanic discovered that ignition cables were too close to the exhaust system and were sparking. They were re-routed and changed to shielded cables and that fixed the problem.

I'd like to hear if anyone has had similar problems and if there are opinions about this unit. I'm concerned about the other slider's hydraulics and other things that may need to be repaired. I'm going to have a pdi done on it by a Winnebago dealer before we make the deal. The unit is the 33v with the Alison 6 transmission.

Pleased to be here.

Hi Ron, welcome to the forum. Sounds like a good plan to have it checked out throughly before you buy. These toys can get expensive.
