2015-Thor Challenger 37KT Owners

Have a new 2015 Thor Challenger 37KT on order from campingworld of Longmont. Would any feedback on dealing with Campingworld, Longmont, Thor and any things to know about what I am about to embark on. Have owned a 5er for three years and believe the motorhome will be a step up in comfort and perhas less of a hassle parking and setting up.

Welcome to the irv2 crew. You picked a great set of forums and folks to connect with. Almost all of our questions were answered here before our motorhome purchase in February 2014. If you have already found it, there's a topic at the top of the page called Owners Forums. Under that is a menu option for Thor owners. You can also get a lot from the search functions generally found in the top right portion of each web page. Good luck with your new wheels and safe travels to ya!

I have question about the front slideout on the 37kt. Has anyone ever replaced the couch with one or two recliners? There is said to be 68" of space available. Just wondering if anyone has done it, and if so, what did they replace the couch with?

Good news this weekend. Motorhome arrived Saturday morning. Wasn’t processed by Camping world yet but went out to at least take a look at what we had ordered, having never actually seeing a Challenger before. It has the lot and fit we were hoping for. Not begins the challenge part of the Challenger. Finding out what doesn’t work and what wasn’t done right and making them fix it before we sign on the dotted line. In our first look, there was a dent in the microwave door. Our sales person kept talking about it being covered by warranty. To me, it should be fixed by Camping World as there is no warranty for something we haven’t signed for yet. So we are delaying the turnover date until we drive it and perform the testing provided elsewhere in this forum. Half the summer is almost over in Colorado, and we don’t want to be waiting for the MH to be fixed all during the second half. Now we have to figure out what tow bar and equipment we will need for the dinghy.

Congrats again. I would not worry about the terminology the dealer uses - just make sure to check everything.

They are saying "warranty" because that the system that they use to get paid by TMC to repair any flaws at pick-up and issues after pick-up.

Best luck on the PDI and safe travels

Have taken it home

Have taken possession of our new ride and home to go. Got it last Thursday and brought it home. It sure takes up a lot of space on the street. Put the right side tires on the sidewalk to make it less of an obstacle on the roadside. We have found only a few minor problems so far. The walkthrough with Campingworld was OK. They have a new microwave on order to replace the one which looked like it came from a dent and scratch sale. A few pieces of trim will be replaced and one drawer, in which they put the touchup paint, which leaked in the drawer. Trees seem to be more of an obstacle than they were with the fifth wheel. So we are in the process of transferring all of the stuff in the garage that was in the fifth wheel to the MH. Have moved it to the RV storage facility who just called to ask if we wanted to move it to a new parking location among the big boys. Will be taking it out for two days at a local reservoir for some fishing and to check out the holding tanks, plumbing and the rest. Have done this every year since we got the fifth wheel so we wouldn’t get surprised on our trips. Then it will be on the way to Yellowstone. The modifications they made for the 2015 are great. HDMI video switcher so we can switch between satellite and DVD player. Oh, replaced DVD with a Blu-Ray. I do have a problem with the cable going from the entertainment center to the sound bar. They only put one RCA cable in and it sounds like they connected it to the video out on the TV. Now I have to figure out how to get the 40” tv off the mount so I can correct that. Well, more to come after the shakedown trip.
