A newbie with a mission!

Well, I finally gone and done it! I bought an RV! It's an 04 Bounder 38n. It needs some work inside. But, I consider myself skilled enough to tackle most all of it. When I am stumped though, I am coming back here! Before joinging and only browsing as a guest I found more info than I needed!
As a Navy vet and a dedicated member of the veteran crew of a US Navy historical ship, this RV will become an extension of her (the ship's) exposure. It will also be my home for the next four months! After that, who knows!
The work will continue through the journey and I will be hunting down all you experts in here that can make my stress go away, reduce my costs and give me reason to brag!
It doesn't look like I'll get the exterior paint done before the cold sets in. So, come Spring keep you eye out for this!

My guess is that there would be a "PO" that follows the Cheif!
Being as I learned long ago never to address you as "sir",
I wil just say "Thanks Chief"!
If I am right, then there is a unique and special meaning to being welcomed "aboard" by you! Since many moons ago it was a Chief that welcomed me aboard my entrance into the finast Navy the world has ever known!
I hope we cross paths in the RV'ing world. You may find my rig to be somewhat special in it's appearance! It's not quite there yet. But, it's getting there!

SlaterDoc,

If you are going to be redoing your rig, look up a thread called (rebuild) or (total rebuild). This guy (Terry) is totally redoing his 5th wheel. He has had a lot of great help from other members, Sometimes reading the technical information on this thread is above my knowledge, but they sure seem to get it. Might be a great source of help to you. Besides, what Terry is doing to his rig is darn interesting!

I also want to thank you for your service to our country. My family has had a lot of military and we have always felt partial to anyone military. Still have members in right now including females.

Now is the time for you to reap the benefits of your service and see this great country that you helped to protect. Enjoy! Lynne

Thank you Lynne!

I will definitely check that out!
My 28 year old daughter has been trying to teach me to use "inspirational ideas" and pictures! The redo to the rig will be extensive inside and out! I had hoped to have more time to get more done before hitting the road. But, I will be doing more on the fly than I thought!
Most of the ideas are already in the plans. But, I am open to many more and have been using this site for a lot of information.
Since this MH will have a dual purpose and be Navy all the way, of course the sleeping area has to be the Captain's Cabin! So, this is the inspiration!

I thank you and the others for the "Thank you for your service"! However, I was only in the Navy for one hitch and although Viet Nam was ongoing, I was lucky to have never been in-country! I accept that "Thank You" on behalf of the vets that have truly earned it and those I am lucky to keep company with today (which includes still a few from WW2)!
