AF Family New to RVing
Hey all!! Sorry for the lengthy first post. My wife and I are being given a 99 Fleetwood Mallard 29s by my parents as they bought a house instead of living in the TT near Lake Erie. My wife and I are both new to RVing but are excited to get started. Luckily we already have a 05 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 6.6 Diesel and after running the numbers it seems we will easily be able to pull the trailer with a WDH. My parents haven't moved the trailer since it was towed into their campsite 2 years ago so they are currently getting all the tires, bearings, brakes, and lights all checked out in preparation for my wife and I to pick it up from OH to move back to MS. Is there anything else we should get checked out or buy in preparation for the trip? My Dad isn't sure if he was given a WDH with the trailer when he bought it but I'm planning on buying one if he doesn't already have it. Any recommendations on a WDH? I have listed the weight specs from both the truck and trailer owners manual in case someone would like to check my (basic understanding) tow math. Thanks guys and gals!!

That truck will pull it fine. make sure your brake switch in the truck is working and tags on the trailer are good. most of the hitches with lift bars will work fine. if it sways on you and the tires are full of air and good then get a sway bar make sure you take it off before trying to back in a spot seen many people bend them.
welcome and good luck

Welcome and glad to meet you!
Just check over all the systems. Hot water, kitchen, etc. to get everything in working order. It's a PITA when you get several hundred miles down the road and find something not working.

Hi Ron! Welcome to IRV2! It's great to have you join the gang!
Don't know anything about TT's. We pulled a 5er for 10 years before getting the MH last year. Hope it works out good for you! Enjoy the forum!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
