(almost) new RV'r from Alaska

Hi - we're Jan & Steve from the Great State of Alaska who completed our first winter out (in almost 40 years) last year, spending 6 months in an '84 VW Vanagon, didn't kill ourselves or each other, and are upgrading to an RV (yet to be purchased) for the coming winter. We learned a great many things in our initial outing, such as the necessity for a full-time bed and inside facilities, and how deliciously low-key and frivolous one can be with time when there is no schedule. Seeing kids and grandkids is always delicious, as is being alone and reading and walking and wandering about. "Not all who wander are lost" is one of my favorite beliefs. I look forward to meeting others online, and perhaps in person, and can't wait until November comes so that we can head out and hang out. Life is good.

Jan & Steve:

WELCOME to "da gang"!! So....where'd ya hang out last winter, and where ya planning to travel this winter? My wife, Lynette, and I bounce back and forth between Florida (where out son & family live), to Texas, to Arizona, but haven't decided which we like the best. What kind of rig are ya looking at?

We took our 40' pusher and toad up to visit your BEAUTIFUL State of Alaska during the summer of 07 and dream of heading back again....pretty soon. Where do ya live up there?

Again, welcome to the iRV2 bunch, and hope to hear from you as things progress. Steve & Lynette
