Alternater problems

We have a 2002 Monaco Dyansty with a 335 hp cummings and put 10000 miles a year on it. I can only get 13 to 14 months out of the alternator. Warrenty is 12 months and at $ 489 a piece it seems they should last longer.
Any ideas????Thanks, Roger

Do you do a lot of boon docking ? If you boon dock and on startup the alternator has to charge your house batteries up from a very low state of charge, that can over heat the alternator causing early failure, they don't like to put out their max. amps for very long.

What brand is the alternator , some do better that others over the years.

Mine is original to the coach at 77,000 miles. still has Cat yellow on from the factory. KOW.

To the best of my knowledge ; Wilson is a re-builder of electrical components. So the units you're installing aren't all brand new parts, many components are cleaned and inspected and re-used.
Bit of a gamble for sure , considering the added cost of NEW , but I'd say find out the original supplier and spec's of the alternator and go with brand new for the next one. If you get the info and look around ; before you have a failure ; you should be able to get a fair price.
I'm guessing that your original equipment would have been , Delco-Remy.
But Monaco or Cummins should be able to say for sure.

Welcome to the forum, I'm new too.
New to RVs as well, but seems like 13 or 14 months out of an alt. sounds pretty bad.
Wondering if there's more to it than just bad alternators.
