Another New Guy From Texas

Hello Everyone,

I'll start off by saying I am currently retired from a 23 year hitch in the U.S. Army. Right now I'm working as the Deputy Chief of Police for a city in Central Texas.

I use the username as I plan to be just that over the next couple of years. Not sure if I'll really get into camping but I intend to test the water to see if this is something I want to do as retirement fast approaches.

I plan to start testing now, but will not invest a whole lot in case this is not what I want to do. I have already learned a lot of information just from reading the many posts. For a new guy, this forum holds a wealth of information.

I will post my intentions on another thread with info on how I plan to get started. Hopefully I'll get a lot advise to help with my decisions.

Thanks for such a wonderful place to do research!!!!!

I truly hope to be able to contribute in the near future.

Howdy,

The Texas Boomers have a rally in Bandera over the Labor Day weekend. Even if you do not have a rig, feel free to drop by and visit or even get a cabin and join in the festivities. We all love to help newbies with our opinions.
