Another new member from N.C.

I have been lurking for awhile and decided to join the forum. We are empty nesters with two children and two grandchildren We have been camping and RVing since 1967. Started in Europe thanks to the Air Force and have gone on from there doing the tent, pop-up,and trailer thing over the years. We have a 2011 Sabre fifth wheel we bought last year after my wife retired with the intention of doing some extended traveling but my mother-in-law's health is keeping us close to home at the moment. We go when we can and enjoy it as much as we did when we had that leaking tent over 40 years ago. That sure makes me fell old saying that.

Welcome from another North Carolinian! Know what you are going through with your mother-in-law. We too are "tied close to home" with my (Pat) Mom's failing health. Enjoy your time on the road and maybe we will meet up someday!

Thanks for the replies. Been busy the last couple weeks with Irene. We live on the coast and the eye past over us here. We did not have any damage other the tree limbs but have friends who got flooded and in a couple of cases all that is left is some of the foundation. While the winds where not extreme by hurricane standards, it was moving so slow it kept driving the water in. I have talked to people in their eighties and one person who is 96 and nobody had ever seen the tide water as high as it got. A lot of people here eastern pamlico county lost everything they had but we are digging out.

Welcome bwings. This is a great website with a lot of nice and knowledgeable people on it. We live just a short distance from you in Washington NC. My Dad and my Uncle built a river cottage in Oriental NC back in the 60S so I have been through your town many times. I hope you enjoy reading the post on iRV2 as much as I do. It is also nice to meet the people who post here at rallies and put a face with a user name.
