Hey all from Georgia. My husband and I just put our S&B on the market. The house is cleared of all the clutter and we are ready to hit the full-timing road. Our current rig is a 26' TT, but we will be purchasing a 5th wheel once our house sells. After several years of health issues for my husband, he has been given a thumbs up from all his Drs. Now we just pray it doesn't take forever for the house to sell. While we wait we will be checking out this forum for tips and ideas on full-timing.

Safe travels to all,
Sue and Ron

Welcome Sue and Ron! Great to hear that your husbands health issues have improved!!! Good luck on the sale of your house, purchase of new rig and most of all your new adventure of full-timing. Maybe "someday" me and my husband will decide to become "full timers" although with being totally new to RV'ing ---for now I am thrilled with going when we can!

Thanks for your well wishes. Our decision to full-time came when we realized that there should be more to retirement than mowing grass, painting and replacing things. Kayaking, fishing and golfing and discovering these United States will replace this tasks. We are excited about our future.

You can escape from the sticks and bricks ,but there will always be something to fix. I say this in the while sitting in Lazy Days in Tampa after getting a few things taken care of.

Welcome to Irv2

Welcome to my favorite RV forum! We're just ahead of you, sort of. We closed on our home less than two weeks ago. The motor home is now my only residence. I say 'sort of' as Peggy is still working, she retires next June 1st. In the meantime we've rented a small efficeincy apartment near her office (shades of our college days). Me and the dogs will be hitting South Carolina around November 1st to begin our first 'snowbird' winter adventure, returning in the spring to collect the rest of the family. And then...?

You've clearly got it figured out. Life's too short and too uncertain. The biggest regrets are those dreams we never pursued. I hope to have few when my time expires.

Welcome to the Forum. Glad you joined us. Hope all your plans work out and get that house SOLD! Wish we get lucky and sell ours. We'll test the market when we get home in about a week. Keep fingers crossed there as well. Enjoy the retirement and traveling. Be safe and Happy Motoring!!!!

You may be right about this being a bad time to sell a house, but if we wait for a good time we may die waiting. We live in a military town so are hoping we get lucky. I have never given up on a dream and don't plan to start now.

Welcome Sue and Ron. Have you considered renting your house? We couldn't sell ours so we have a realtor who manages the rental and it pays the mortgage, taxes and insurance. I hope you enjoy your travels as much as we have enjoyed ours so far. Only been fulltiming since April and have learned SO much during that time. This site is full of knowledgeable people who are willing to help.
