I have been reading and learning everything I can on this forum for a few months now. Finally found a very clean 2004 class A Coachman Santara 3480DS a couple hundred miles from where I live. Took a maiden voyage last week and all went very well, which I attribute to reading all the need to know functions from this forum. The driving was of no concern (44 yrs over road truck driver) but had no clue about a lot of other must know systems. Thanks to everyone on here for all the info and I will continue to read and learn from you

MoCoTom,

Welcome to the Forum and congratulations. This is a great hobby and you are going to love your rig.

Couple pieces of advice. Get an in line water filter and pressure regulator valve. About $30 for both at Walmart and can save you a lot of issue with your plumbing.

When you are between uses make sure to empty the water out of your hot water heater. If the water sits there for too long (can be as little as 2 weeks) the water can stink badly and then you need to Clorox the system. Save yourself the trouble.

In that search engine on the site here enter "Water rotten egg smell" and see what I mean.

Good Luck, Lynne
